Our story
About us
Casale Fedele
A kitchen, and the land around it
I Love Italy was born at Casale Fedele, a country house where for three generations people have cooked from recipes passed down by word of mouth, between one harvest and the next. One day we decided to write them down, test them and share them with those who, like us, believe food is the simplest way to tell a culture's story.
But a recipe on its own tells half the story. The other half is the land around us: the Etruscans who painted the tomb chambers of Tarquinia, the Farnese who built the palace at Caprarola, the gardens of Villa Lante, the wood of stone monsters at Bomarzo. That's why people who come to us don't stop at the stove: they go and see all this, which is minutes away by car and almost nobody knows. And the curious can drop in on the vegetable garden and the farms nearby too.

From the garden to the table
Tomatoes, courgettes, herbs: much of what ends up on our plates grows a few steps from the kitchen, in the Casale's vegetable garden. That's where the recipes begin, season after season.
